My mission is to help adults improve the quality of their mental and emotional functioning so they can live their most meaningful lives; a life of awareness, balance and success!
Dr. Jennifer Paul
licensed Mental Health counselor
My passion for living a mindful life began with my own awareness that I was, in fact, NOT living in a mindful way. My journey into my self and my own understanding led me to an overwhelming desire to share what I have learned. As part of my own conscious healing, I found greater joy in life, greater awareness of my emotions and thoughts, as well as deeper and more connected relationships.
Through much learning and education in Buddhist psychology and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, I am able to help individuals and couples gain the tangible skills to gain their own sense of awareness; awareness of self defeating behavior patterns as well as self defeating thoughts. I will teach you the skills of overall mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance and how to be your most effective self in your relationships. I have found much success with these techniques based on the feedback from the clients I have had to honor of serving.
I look forward to sharing my journey and walking along the path with you on yours.
As a clinician with over 10 years of experience, I have gained an advanced understanding and training in many mental and emotional struggles. I have treated individuals with a balance of acceptance and challenge throughout my career and continue to be a student of the art of counseling. I have completed intensive training in DBT through the Linehan Institute and allow it to serve as the foundation of my practice.
I have my Master’s Degree and Doctoral Degree in Mental Health Counseling and Counselor Education, which has allowed me to be exposed to learn the most evidenced-based practices as a clinician.
I have also led therapy groups for over 10 years, focusing on the areas of women’s issues, body image issues, general mental health concerns, codependency, and DBT. I lead group from a place of a facilitator and focus on both education and process.
While my passion is healing, I also enjoy spending time with my family. As a native of Wisconsin, I certainly take advantage of the south Florida weather! I enjoy paddle boarding and spending time at the beach. As the mother of a 3-year old, I find I need to practice self-care whenever I can! I do this by cooking, practicing yoga and Pilates, and attending my own Buddhism classes weekly. I also enjoy traveling and recently ate my way through France!
